Good question! We have three different age groups for our Play Kits which then each have three different options. The Playtime Pack is for ages 2-4. Our Playmaker Pack is for ages 5-7. Our Playmaster Pack is for ages 8-10. 

There are three different options for each age range: Pack, with Pen Pal Keepsake & with Play Pals.

The Pack is all the crafts and supplies in a kit but without a pen pal keepsake option added in for your child to have their own long-distance pen pal to share with. So no pen pal option here and no extra keepsake craft included.

The Pack with Pen Pal Keepsake will include all the same crafts and supplies for your child PLUS an additional keepsake craft to use to send out to their own pen pal of choice. You will receive a pen pal letter template to send to your Pen Pal, as well!

The Pack with Play Pals is the option you would select if your child wants to participate in the Pen Pal portion but do not have their own Pen Pal to send a keepsake to. If you select this option, one of our team members from our company will become your child's pen pal while being disguised as a Play Pack character to make it more fun for your little one. There will not be an extra keepsake craft included in this kit, but you will receive the pen pal letter template and receive a personalized letter back.

Subscription based PlayKits are sent out once a month. You will get different themed activities each month. There are also one-time purchase options available with select themes.

When purchasing your PlayKit, make sure to select the "Pen Pal" add-on option. This will make sure that you will receive a PlayKit that has your monthly activities inside PLUS it will include an additional keepsake style craft that you will be able to mail to the Pen Pal of your choice. Your pen pal will only receive a "keepsake" style craft, they will not have the entire box of monthly activities that will be included in your PlayKit unless they sign up for their own PlayKit box on their own.

OF COURSE! In fact, this would be THE BEST gift! It's the gift that keeps on giving when purchasing the subscription PlayKit or you can purchase a one-time box option. This will be a fun, constant gift that any kid would love to have! Just make sure to complete the correct address of where you would like the PlayKit to be shipped to when placing your order.

Yes, you can! We have created two solutions for this: if you still want to have a Pen Pal, you can purchase the Play Kit option with a Pen Pal addition then write your Pen Pal letter addressed to our business address then expect to receive a letter back from one of our Pen Play Pals.

Or there is an option to purchase a PlayKit WITHOUT the Pen Pal addition so that you can still be included in the fun on your own.

I'm a mama too so I totally understand this hesitation which is why I want to make it known - there will be no stranger assigned as a Pen Pal for your littles. If you choose to use one of our Play Pals as your Pen Pal - you will send your Pen Pal letter to Pen Pal Playdates business address ONLY which you will then receive a response back from our business disguising as one of the Play Pals so that your little one can participate in the fun and interaction of a pen pal without the worry of safety concerns.

There are about 10-12 activities based on learning and/or crafting that come in each PlayKit for your child to enjoy each month. Each subscription based PlayKit will include different activities every month so it keeps it fun, interesting, and sparks new creative energy each time.

Each PlayKit is designed for one child at a time. While the directions can be used inside each PlayKit for multiple children at a time, the supplies will only be enough for one child per kit. For additional children, you will need to purchase a Play Kit for each child based on their age.

Inside your PlayKit, you will receive an additional keepsake style craft that will be for your Pen Pal. This craft, along with your letter you've written and/or illustrated to your Pen Pal will be sent directly to their address on your end. You will be responsible for addressing, labeling and providing shipping costs to send this package to your pen pal.

At this time, we are not offering shipping services for your Pen Pal's keepsake craft and letter. This is something we hope to create in the future to ease the process. But we encourage you to use this as an opportunity to teach your littles how to mail packages!

Yes, of course... Although we would hate to see you go! If you need to cancel at any time, please email us at hello@penpalplaydates.com at least 30 days before your next bill date and we will be able to cancel your next order.

We definitely encourage engaging in the activities with your little ones. Not only will it create a stronger connection between the two of you, but it will hopefully spark some creative energy in you too! We also strongly advise to oversee all the activities for safety reasons - while these kits are made for kids, there are small pieces and materials that would not be safe for your kids to get into if they are not being used properly. These kits are created for independent play but we do always recommend to have a grownup supervise while they play and explore. Safety first!

Yes! We use all organic ingredients for our playdough recipes, including the food coloring powders that we use. We also use non-toxic paint materials for our paint projects and for the sensory noodle kits. We can also use a gluten-free option if you send your request to hello@penpalplaydates.com BEFORE you purchase a kit.
